The Midnight Blue Dial

The Midnight Blue dial is lacquered in a deep midnight blue that reads near-black until light finds it. Against the dark ground sit solid markers and numerals cast entirely from BGW9 Grade A Super-LumiNova, with nickel-plated hands chosen for contrast. Berlac Fluor Orange picks out the contrasting elements: the date, the Expedition signature and the tip of the seconds hand. After dark the dial inverts, and the lume carries the display. Limited to 200 pieces.

Expedition

Grade 5 Titanium Case

The Straum Expedition case is Grade 5 Titanium, redesigned around a 38.2mm bezel. A broader flank profile deflects impacts away from the crystal, a stepped bezel reduces the surface area of the highest plane of the case, and an enlarged screw-down crown is sized for cold or gloved hands. Beneath it sits a Fluor Orange indicator, visible whenever the crown is left unscrewed.

The Straum Coupling

Machined from Grade 5 Titanium, the Straum Coupling is a push-button quick release for fast, tool-free strap changes, housed in the midlink.

Caseback and movement

The Expedition runs the G100 by La Joux-Perret—an automatic movement with date, 24 jewels and a 68-hour power reserve, regulated in-house. It sits behind a closed screw-down caseback etched with a lone hiker beneath a star-filled sky.
