Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping and Customs

Shipping to Norway

All final prices include Norwegian VAT (calculated at checkout). We ship Norwegian orders 'DDP' (Delivered Duties Paid), meaning you will not face any unexpected customs duties or import charges.

Shipping to Switzerland

All prices include VAT for Swiss customers.. Orders are shipped DDP with DHL to Switzerland.

Shipping to the rest of the world (not including USA)

Orders outside the U.S., Norway, and Switzerland are shipped on a DAP (Delivery At Place) basis. You will be responsible for any import duties, clearance fees, VAT, or other charges assessed by your local authorities. These charges are typically paid on delivery. You are deemed the importer of record and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Customs officials may require a Tax ID or similar documentation.

Shipping to the USA

We’ve made shopping from the US simple. When you order a Straum, the price you see at checkout is the final price you pay.

All orders are shipped Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). We handle all customs and import duties for you.

Sales tax may be applied at checkout if legally required. Important: U.S. customs officials may require your Social Security Number or Tax ID to clear the shipment. Failure to provide this results in the shipment being returned, and you are responsible for any related shipping fees. If U.S. customs duties change between the order and delivery, you will be responsible for covering the difference.

What is your overall shipping policy and cost?

We offer free worldwide shipping on orders over $200 USD. International orders are shipped with DHL Express, and delivery typically takes 1–7 days depending on your location. U.S. domestic orders are shipped with UPS. Orders placed before 11 AM CET typically ship the same day. Products are shipped from Norway and the United States, but the products are assembled in Switzerland meaning they are of Swiss origin and Swiss tariffs rates apply. All goods are declared at their original purchase value for customs purposes.

Will I have to pay additional fees to Norway?

No. All final prices include Norwegian VAT (calculated at checkout). We ship Norwegian orders domestic, from our Norwegian warehouse.

Will I have to pay additional fees to the US?

No, we ship U.S. orders 'DDP' (Delivered Duties Paid), meaning you will not face any unexpected customs duties or import charges.

Returns and Exchanges

We will notify you once we've received and inspected your return. If approved, you'll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. We do not cover variations in refund amounts due to changes in currency exchange rates. Customs duties you've already paid cannot be refunded. Likewise, any duties, taxes, or fees that Straum incurred will be deducted from your refund.

What is your return policy?

We have a 14-day return policy after receiving your item. The item must be in the same condition received—unworn or unused, with tags and protective films, and in its original packaging. All returned watches are examined under a high level of magnification for surface scratches. If the strap has been used or marked, a refund will only be granted on the watch itself. Non-returnable items include custom products (special orders or personalized items) and gift cards. The European Union 14-Day Cooling Off Period applies, with exceptions for certain bespoke pre-ordered products. Returns must be initiated by contacting support@straum.co.

Warranty and Repairs

Is the 2-year limited warranty transferable to a new watch owner?

Yes, if a Straum watch is purchased secondhand, the 2-year limited warranty transfers to the new owner. The 2-year limited warranty remains effective from the original date of purchase of the watch. The warranty window does not start over with new owner.

What is your warranty period?

All watches come with a 2-year limited warranty. Watches are identifiable with a serial number inside the watch, but we do not deliver a physical warranty card. The warranty does not cover: damage from mistreatment or improper use, wear and tear, or hardware modifications.
